I decided I would share a few of my favorite things with you. I found most of them because someone else shared them with me, so I thought I would do the same. Up first is skincare. I have always struggled with my skin. I had horrible acne as a teenager and still break out often. I’m still searching for solutions, so it’s a work in progress. What has helped me the most is keeping everything that touches my face clean. I wash my pillowcase often, wash my hands before cleansing or doing my makeup, use clean washcloths and towel to dry, and clean my makeup brushes weekly.
First off, I use one of these washcloths to wash my face and another one to pat it dry. They are so soft! I just ordered these ones too, but haven’t tried them yet. I’m not sharing a cleanser because I haven’t found one I love yet, so if you have any suggestions please share!
These little cotton squares are the softest! I use them to remove eye makeup and apply my toner. I get them where all good things come from… Amazon. You can find the link here.
I keep them on my bathroom counter in this cute jar from Target. I also love this rose gold one and this marble one.
I have been using this toner after I cleanse my face morning and night for a couple years now and I really love it! Plus its gentle on your skin and doesn’t burn like other toners I have used.
I have only been using this product for one week, but it has already helped my dry winter skin. I learned there is a difference between hydrating your skin and moisturizing from an esthetician named Lisa. You can follow her on instagram here. She gives tons of great skincare tips! This hydrates your skin, and apparently lotions and creams alone can’t do that. Slathering on a thick cream might feel good to dry skin but it isn’t actually fixing the problem and it’s especially bad for acne prone skin like mine. A light moisturizer is more beneficial for oily skin. I have actually felt like I needed less moisturizer after using this. There are lot’s of brands, but I have only tried this one.
I started using this gel a couple months ago after my dermatologist recommended it. She said everyone can benefit from adding it to their nightly routine and she wished it was this affordable when she was younger. There are other brands, you just need to make sure it contains 0.1% Adapalene. She said it basically gives you a mini chemical peel every night and is also used to treat acne. The texture of my skin has really improved. It’s so much smoother and more clear! I put it on after cleansing, toning, and hydrating every night.
I have been using this moisturizer for a few years now. It’s so good and so cheap! It comes in a huge jar and even my husband loves it. I use it morning and night as the last step in my skincare routine. I should be using sunscreen every morning instead, but I’m still working on that.
I have always had dry lips, but they get really bad in the winter. I recently tried this and have really liked it. It’s the most expensive product on this list though. You can also buy it through licensed estheticians. I ordered mine from Lisa the “Skinboss”. You can find her contact info here.
I’m trying a new mineral face sunscreen right now, but so far I don’t like it. I have always hated sunscreen, especially on my face. It goes on white and feels and looks oily. The best one I have found so far is this one from Neutrogena. It goes on really light. However, it isn’t a mineral sunscreen with zinc and that is what my dermatologist recommended using every morning. I’m still trying to find one I like … not sure it exists, so I would love suggestions on this as well!
