Oh little Maisy! She completely stole my heart at this session! I mean, how adorable is she? She was so perfect the whole time even though it was windy and a little chilly. I used to work with her beautiful mom Brighton, before I had my first baby. I love anytime we are able to get back together. She was such a great friend to have at work! I loved watching her husband Dean with his little girl. You can tell she has him wrapped around her tiny little finger. He is so cute with her! Thanks for having me Lemmon family.

Ellis Family + Fall Mini Session
This session was fun for me! It made me realize how much harder I have to work when I have toddlers and babies in front of my camera haha. These older kids were a breeze! Janna and I are related through our grandmas, who are sisters. It had been far too long since I had seen her and her kids, so it was great to get in touch again! I have been dying to take this family’s pictures and I’m so glad we finally made it happen! Michelle is my sister-in-law’s sister…. so I’m not sure what that makes us but I do know that she’s pretty great. The summer after my husband John and I got married, he felt that doing summer sales was the right thing for us. Neither of us were too sure about it, but we packed up and drove to Arkansas anyway. Jeremiah is my second cousin and our families used to go camping together when I was younger. Not sure why we stopped because it was always so fun! I sat down to edit a sneak peek of this session and ended up finishing the entire thing! This family is just too gorgeous, I couldn’t make myself stop. Val and I know each other from design school and I love each time I get to see her and her family. Their sweet Gavin is growing so fast! He looked like such a little man in his outfit. Motherhood. It’s intense, difficult, exhausting, incredible, fulfilling, joyful, heartbreaking, challenging, messy, and a million other things. I think all mothers wonder if they are doing it right, get confused about where to go for help and information. There are so many conflicting opinions out there when it comes to parenting. Just remember we all screw up at times but we are doing our best. Give yourself grace. Kids are so loving and can forgive in an instant. Hammocks + Summer
Sometimes I shoot personal work on film. Since all the pictures from my childhood are on film, these instantly feel like old memories to me. I love that about it. And the colors are just so perfect. I will always remember summers hanging out in the back yard after John gets home.
